89 Accord LXI 2.0 CEL
My dad has a 91 accord lxi and the CEL just came on. Can someone please tell me how to read this? ie-where to "bypass" the ecu to make the CEL flash
I've done searches but couldn't find anything that helped. Thanks in advance
BTW..I understand Autozone will check it for free, but the car want run long enough to make it there

For your 89 LXI you'll need to look under the rear of the drivers seat to find the ECU that has a flashing LED when the ignition switch is turned on.
For a 90-93 accord try this link

What is the reason for title of the post to be 89 LXI, then ask a question about a 91 accord??

Ok here is another newbie question, when counting the flashes on a 89, do you simply count each time the light blinks or do you have to do the short and long thing?
When you turn the ign. on, you get one blink..pause...six blinks..pause...six....etc.
Would the be code 6?

Yes, you just count flashes there are no long or shorts. If it flashed 6 times then paused and flashed 6 times again then it is code 6. At least it sounds like an easy problem since its the coolant temp. sensor.
