need some advice from some of the civic guys...
i have a 96 integra b18b1 and im lookin at getting rid of my old motor. reason being is that it will cost me roughly $2,000 and maybe even more to fix. what happened was a little over a month ago the timing belt lost 15 teeth all together and the car died on me while driving. i wasnt going fast but well all know that when the timing belt gives out it usually spells trouble for the motor. im still throwing codes and now know that my valves are bent for sure and id rather invest in a new motor at this point. i thought about just gettin a new b18b1 longblock and going turbo which is still an option. but i was also looking at possibly a b16a 92-95 si-R II long block. will my ls tranny work here? i know i will have really long gears but will it work and be reliable until i can put some money into a newer tranny? how much do you think i could pick up a b16 tranny for? thanks in advance guys...
if your gonna be going turbo i would stick with the ls tranny for freeway driving. unless your going to be racing it all the time and just using it for a weekend warrior then go with a Type R or B16
