Educate me - coilovers and shock and spring
Let's take the rear suspension of a G5 Civic for example.
The shock is in the middle of the spring.
A coilover is a shock in the middle of the spring. The only difference is that they are together as one piece.
What is the difference?
OK, in the stock setup, the car rest on the springs. And the shock controls the up/down movement.
In a coilover what does what?
TIA
