Well, I would say save your$ and keep the OEM bulbs. Any higher then 5k you lose the light that you can see. All you get is the "COOL" blue look

is it the kool thing now to uprgrade the s2000 HID's?

we have HID's from the factory...most people would kill for OEM HID's...just keep them, why waste money...

OEM = hardtopguy.com

The higher the bulb temp, the lower visible light output. Keep the OEMs, the 8000Ks aren't worth it.

???

Not worth a ****, Im pretty sure its just a mild degree of light output change, and you can get a different bulb that is close enough to not affect the output more than conventional output vs HID.

I was just responding to a previous statement, no need to get your panties in a twist. Making the point that the replacement bulbs are a common trend that people follow in Japan, unlike the US.

And how is spending $250-300 for replacement HID bulbs a poser JDM thing? Im just saying that some of the world's most functional and well built cars have other temp range HIDs...

What do you mean "what works" There are products to meet everyone's needs or desires for their car -- its not like reduced output makes the bulb NOT WORK.

People do alot of things when modifying their cars that reduce functionality--

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And alot of people DO care what the trends are in Japan, and Im pretty sure that is where alot of the high tech stuff comes from in the first place...

Cheapest place for the OEM lip I've found is http://www.hondapartsdeals.com, AKA Saccucci Honda. They're located in Rhode Island. Lowest price and pretty good customer service as well

EDIT: Oh yeah, the crucial info, I got my OEM lip from them last week, and paid $380 with next day air shipping. It would have been 360 shipped with regular ground shipping

I just ordered 3000K HID bulbs. Gonna put them in the projectors and use the OEM bulbs for the high beams.

OEM HID bulbs are supposed to last 10 years, straight from a Honda mechanic. I don't even want to touch them, especially since they look as good as they already do. Spending extra money for a bulb color change is not my style. That $250 is 2 gallons of epoxy and 6 yards of carbon fabric.

JDM **** = slightly underrated, way overrated.

4700K I believe. The 3000K has less of a blue tint to it.

I know that with higher bulb temp. you lose light visibility however i really enjoy the deep blue color that the 8k produce

i liked the 4300k hids my teggy use to have, think going to 4300k on the s2000 would be a bad idea, whoever, I thought i read on s2ki that the s2000's HIDS were 4300k

I personally like the way the s2000 hid's look from the factory. I've been looking into purchasing an s2000, the evo's & sti's are just making me question whether I want another honda, lol.

their completely different, you can't compare...

my cousin has an STI and my friends all have EVO's...Im the only s2000 really. I wouldn't trade my car for one of theirs no matter what...

the s2000 is fast, you just feel how fast the evo and sti is because of the turbo...

its up to you man, awd or rwd...2 seats or 4...
