I parked my car outside for the first time the other night and the e-brake is frozen ( I believe) on the passenger side only.

I beat the **** out of it with a mallet, but no luck!

What else can I do to free it up?

 

park it in a garage for a few hours with the brake off, it will thaw out. you shouldnt use your e-brake in freezing weather unless it is absolutly necessary.

It's been in my garage overnight and it's still stuck! (garage isn't heated)
It's only like 10 degrees out!

 

Did you try penetrating grease yet?

Do you have electric in your garage? If so, aim a space heater at it (and monitor carefully)

 

no, I didn't apply penetrating grease.
Where do I spray it?

 

drive it out onto a non-icy area. They'll break free.

I have, I put about 30 or so miles on. They seem to break free after awhile of driving, but once I park it, they freeze up again.

and I am not using the e-brake either.....

 

run a hair dryer all along the brake cable

just did, but no luck!
that bitch is really stuck on there. I could get the lug nuts off with the car jacked up and the wheel didnt budge at all...

 

I know this thread is old, but is there anything else that can be done to brake the wheel loose?

I had this happen to me last night and it really sucked. It's happened a few times before, but not as bad as last night (it was 8 degrees).

Should I worry about just putting the car in gear to park it. Is one gear better than another?

 

Any gear will hold just fine. I always throw mine in first during cold weather. Just remember to hold the brake or put it in neutral before you start it up!
