Just curious as to how often you guys are having to refill your coolant. Since maintenance intervals are every 10k I'm not used to checking the fluids as often as I would and it seems that my RSX is using a lot of coolant. I filled up the reserve a bit past the max line about 2k ago and it's already down between the max and min line. Is this normal? If not, what might be causing this?

 

just make sure ur resevoir is filled to that line that says "full". dont fill it up all the way.

the manual says you dont need to change the coolant fluid for 100,000 miles or 10 years.

 

I should add that during the first 15k I never checked the coolant (yeah, I know, pretty stupid) and finally realized I was practically out of it because my heater would get cold during idle. My car's temperature never increased past normal operating range. Is it normal to go through all of your coolant within 15k?

 

The coolant level in the resivior is a bad way to judge your coolant level and consumption. The coolant resivior level will vary with engine temperature. I also makes a difference wether you topped off the coolant with the engine hot or cold. If you fillled it to the max line and in a few days it was empty, you have a problem. other wise i wouldn't worry
