Hello, I was wondering what all transmissions will work in my 2000 honda civic dohc vtec? Someone told me that there are some sohc trannys that will work! If anyone could make a list on what all would work that would be great. Thank You!

To answer ya anyway, Your motor is a B16A2. Any other B-series motor, meaning any Honda engine where the first letter is "B" is a B-series. All B-series transmissions are interchangable, from any 90-01 Integra, 1st gen CRV, and more.

 

arent the 90-93 integras cable trannys? is your tranny bad?

 

would be best if you can find another of the same one it came with the car.
In this case you need the B16 tranny

 

SOHC transmission wont work
only B series trannys
GSR, Ls, RS, Type r, Si ALL b series

 

put an s2000 tranny in it then you will be rear wheel drive. hopefully youll go drifting off a cliff

i came on the board knowing how to read the stickies on the tops of the foirums and to use the "search" function. maybe you can use your wealth of knowledge to tell him how to mount his d series tranny in his si "sport"

unforunately there's a bunch of dumbasses on this site that think they are the **** by being the biggest hardass. However they aren't **** and they don't do anything but talk ****. If you search their created topics you'll see them asking stupid questions and posting a bunch of BS in the general discussion forum. REAL WINNERS TO LOOK UP TO.

The only b-series transmissions that can swap onto that b16a2 are the gsr and the ls. Aside from the ITR which is identical ratio wise but has a factory LSD. Do not let anyone convince you that your car would be better off with another tranny (ie: gsr or ls) because it won't. to OP: Any B-Series tranny will work like already stated. But the original tranny is probably your best bet for that motor I believe.

 

Aright, well first of all I knew that a sohc tranny wouldnt work. Im just sayin what somebody told me, and i thought they were pretty stupid. I was just basically asking a question if any other dohc trannys would work. i should have been more specific. the thing i didnt know is if a dohc tranny out of a non-vtec car would work. i know now it probably would but i didnt know if the gear ratios would make a huge difference or not.
