Im kinda a newb at cars and my brother was telling me about down pipes to get for my civic to add hp. One problem i dont know what a down pipe does!? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

no its i who dosent know a whole lot lol. ps i grabed a random picture off of google. and i know its a turbo down pipe but i wanted to know how it increases horse power guess i wasnt real clear

 

from a stock down pipe on a turbo car, its larger, less bends possibly, increased air flow

 

why u dont tell us what car u have, so we can tell u whether or not u can make use of one.

 

makes the gases "freer Flowing" less restrictions, like any pipe
