Energy Suspension Motor Mount Inserts....
I searched and found nothing.... my rear motor mount is shot, instead of buying a new one from Honda, can I just use the ES poly inserts? or do I need a good motor mount in order for those to work right?
It depends how bad it is. Mine was torn but not all the way through the mount so i just put an insert in. If the inner rubber part is serverely torn, I would just go ahead and replace it first.

I don't think mine has ripped all the way through quite yet but it's damn close! I'd love to just buy a new mount from Honda but when I went to the dealership for a quote it was $170 for just the rear mount! expletive that! I looked at the innovativemounts.com site and I don't exactly have $300 layin around otherwise I'd just buy a new stock one and use inserts!!

I replaced mine while the motor was out but it can be done with basic tools and there is no need for a lift. You would either have to lift the motor up high enough to to install the inserts or just do each mount one at a time. The rear mount will be the biggest PITA, but it is doable. You will need some extensions and a swivel to get the job done.
I dont think a pry bar would put enough force on the mount to check it. I would have a buddy break torque the engine and have you stand in front of the car (NOT DIRECTLY IN FRONT) off to the side with the hood up and see how much the engine moves. If you decide that the movement is excessive then I would get new mounts and or inserts. Its not the most scientific test but its all I can come up with. lol

what do you mean by break torque the engine? I just opened the TB with the throttle cable under the hood while it was running to see how much movement there was.

Im not really too impressed with the Invative Mounts. They seem very low quality. Not too mention looks to not even include the front motor mount?
As far as the inserts .. I have them and they do a good job as far as engine front back movement .. but a main feature to true mounts is less bouncing of the engine (up and down) .. providing for a more solid chassis.

i think 100 bucks for a new mount, vs a 15 dollar insert is a pretty good amount, if you can fix it with 15 bucks, why spend 100 bucks more?
most busted mounts can be fixed with an insert, unless the insides are severly torn, which usually they won't be

Not to burn you man but there is only three mounts for a reason. They are extremely stiff as in probably no engine movement at all. Plus it will give you a bit of space in the front of the engine with out the front mount. I will be buying the innovative mounts I'm glad someone posted this. I've never seen replacement mounts for the Prelude about freaking time!

Guys we were happy to find these as well. We were going to make our own untill we saw the website. They are one of our new sponsors for the 2006 season. Our mounts will be delivered tomorrow or Wednesday. They are also looking into making aluminum mounts in the near future.
I will take pictures and post on here as soon as we get them. I will also comment on the quality once they are in my hands.
I asked why they don't offer the front mount and they said it wasn't needed with their kit. We ran for a long time on the street without a front mount.
