My speedometer only works sometimes...randomly it will start working or sometimes it even jumps for no reason i checked the connection on the tranyy but its still connected good...this morning it was working and sometimes it would jump but i hit a little bump in the road and it stopped working but then a couple of seconds later it started working again can someone tell me how to fix this problem ?? i really need to get this fixed it just annoys me to not know how fast im going i have to judge the spead im going by the rpm's (i know in 5th gear at 3000 rpm's is 70 mph lol)

 

Get a air blower and blow out both ends of the connecter for the speed sensor. may have coolant or moisture in it.

 

It's the soddering in the cluster.. either re-sodder it or get a new cluster..

ding ding ding!!! we have a winner.

 

try a qtip with some rubbin alcohol and clean where the pins go in the back of the cluster
this first an then try to do the same to the ones on the vss if all of this doesnt work then u might want to try a new cluster!!goodluk

 

Mine is doing the same thing, I know its not my cluster. It worked fine with my ITR tranny, when i put in this b16 tranny it was acting a fool.

I know i spilled a little antifreeze in the VSS plug, i am going to blow it out, see if that works. I think the VSS might be bad.

Let me know what you find
