My idle solution with Crower 403's
The other day it was kinda hot out and my car got in one of its dying sprees. So I contemplated a lot of things. I thought about getting new plugs and wires, but my gas mileage was still very good, about 180 freeway miles per half tank. So I fiddled with the idle and found the same old problem. The computer wouldn't let me get the idle where I wanted it. It either put it at 750 rpm (too low) or had it fluctuate between 1000-1500 rpm (too high) depending on where I set the throttle adjusting screw. The computer was my enemy.
So I looked in my Helms manual and found the "Throttle Angle Sensor." I figured if I disconnected that, the computer wouldn't adjust the idle to where it wanted it. So I disconnected it, reset the ECU and got the idle right where I want it. It now stays between 800-1000 rpm and hasn't come close to dying once in the last two days. The only downside is that the Check Engine light is on, but it's a pretty cool light anyway.

OH MY GOD.. you disconnected your TPS cause you dont know how to adjust your idle correctly.
You have a helms right???
What you need to do is the following.
First. start the car, take some break cleaner or carb cleaner and spray it around the TB area, this is with the intake on... if your idle moves any during that, you have a leak somewhere that needs to be fixed.
NEXT, once youve done that and you know you have no TB leakage, start the car, get it super warm, then drive it off a cliff cause your an idiot. AHAHA kidding.. get it warm and shut your car off.. Disconnect your IACV,(thats the idle air control valve on the back of the manifold) then start your car back up again.. Now adjust your idle to about 200 rpms to what you want.. say you want 900 rpm idle, adjust it to 700 rpms.. then shut the car off.. plug the IACV back in. and your set.. ready to go...
