Default just put in remote start, little issue ANNOYING though

whenever i remote start the car (98 lude) the key in ignition light blinks the entire time i'm driving. It's pissing me off and while I don't mind cutting that wire, I'd like to just have it stop doing that. Any ideas? It's a viper alarm, 555d bypass module... help!

I have installed more then a few DEI 555D bypass modules, and have not run into that problem, you say it only happens when you remote start the car, not if you start car with key, is that correct?
Let me ask you this, is the key in ign. warning icon on when just the remote start is running the motor, or does it only come on when you put the key in the ign, or when you turn the key on, or not until you step on brake to disengage the remote start?
It is obvious that it is somehow related to the remote start or the bypass module, or your wiring, [although if everything else works I can't see it as being a wiring problem]. 94

i was wondering the same thing also. Sounds like the bypass is still sending the code while the immob is picking up the code from the factory key.

ok so it comes on when the car is remote started, regardless of whether the key is in the ignition yet or not. It continues to blink the whole time I drive my car until i turn it off and start it with the key, non remotely. I have no idea what i should do here, maybe theres an obvious wire on the install diagram that i can just put a switch on? I dont have that with me right now but you said you did a lot of them. Which wire do you think would control this?

oh and you said you installed a lot of 555d's, a guy on another forum said they only work about half the time, mine works great so i guess i shouldnt talk about that, but have you heard of this at all?

thanks

sounds to me like a bad bypass mod., if it was an install problem, the mod. probablly wouldnt work at all, or would shut down after you put your foot on the brake, who makes the bypass mod?

The only thing I can think of other than the blue status wiring is the keysense.

I think i remembered that there were two "blue/white" wires in the ignition harness for the KEYSENSE. Make sure you have the right one. I would say you could try connecting it to the otehr blue/white to see if the problem is gone.
