WTF: First time at strip, RSX-S R/T dropping but E/T not
I finally went to the strip today.
Run# Reaction Time 1/4 mile:
1 1.4 15.3
3 .838 15.754
4 .495 15.520
5 .475 15.597
6 .453 15.462
7 .257 15.575
All E/T mph were 91.XX
All 60' time were betweem 2.5 and 2.6
I wish my last reaction time was my first reaction time.
They went down the beginning of the track with water for burn outs.
On runs 3 and 4 I spun tires all the way through 1st gear and
on run 4 I spun tires all the way through 2nd gear.
Is the fact that I have stock RSX tires and the wet track killing me?
I'm guessing that's what it is but I'm not that experienced.
Someone out there please give me some input on what I can
do to improve my E/T.
I'm gonna keep working on my R/T.

Before everyone jumps on your ***. R/T doesn't contribute to your et. The clock doesn't start running until you break the beams. You need to focus on getting your 60 fts down and you will see a drop in et. One good thing is that you are consistant. Now change your launch style to improve you 60 fts and keep your consistancy and you should be golden.
Your reaction time means very little. I would work on getting your 60' time lower, 2.5-2.6 is pretty bad. Pull a 2.0 or better and you should see some mid 14 e.t.'s

reaction time is the amount of time from when the green drops until you trip the timers to start timing your run.....
you can still run a 15.1 and have like a 10 second reaction time
if two people run 15 seconds flat....who ever trips the timers (better r/t) first is the winner

the wet track is never a good thing but what were you launching. i think that if you got ur 60s down you could see high 14s. but for a type s isnt 91mph a little low.
Reaction Times(R/T) only matter in competition.
Whether you are Bracket racing or Heads Up against the other car, thats when the R/T matters. While the power and ET is the main factor of winning a race, the R/T is driver vs driver.
If you are going for personal best on the car, the thing you should work on is the 60fts. On Average, at best, you can maybe get the 60ft down to a 2.0 to a 2.1 with your street tires/
With that difference you can gain about 1/2 a second on your over all E/T.
And with slicks, you can drop the times into the 1.7-1.9 range. SO the difference on your 60 fts is how you can better your E/T.
Also, it is said that for every .2 you better your 60s, you can lessen your E/T by .3
Drop your 60s to 2.1s and you can get the times down to a 14.8-14.9s
good luck

Just keep practicing man. My friend ran a 14.5 1/4 with a 2.2 60ft. He was also a stock rsxs, stock tires, and cai.
Forget about your R/T for now. As long as you are on street tires drive around the burn out box-that should help a little with your 60's. Try dropping your tire pressure until you achieve your best 60's. You also need to find what launch rpm works best for your setup. Get Kpro and some tuning and watch your ET's drop and your MPH climb
