Default Accord Tire Decision Thread

It's time to buy new tire for my 1994 Accord EX Sedan. This car is 100 % stock and I would like to keep it that way.

The recommended tire size is 195/60/15.

I would like to keep the cost of each tire $50.00 or below.

I'm in Sol Cal and it hardly rains here at all, I have did some research and I'm leaning towards these tires. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Kumho ECSTA 711 $40.00 @ Tirerack

or

Falken Ziex ZE-512 $37.00 @ Vulcan Tires

personally I would stay away from extremely cheap tires as they usually suck in the rain. good tires should not cost more than $60 for each one.

I will drive very non-agressive.

I did some more research and I'm also think about Kumho SPT for $54.00

$50.00 a tire? PepBoys Futura Specials - the ones made from recycled condoms; is that what you're looking for?
I haven't seen good tires that cheap since the early '70's. And even then, they were Bias Ply Tires!
Why not save your money, add it to the money saved from not buying 80 Double Cheeseburgers and get yourself a good set of Yokohama's or Toyo's?

Very close to your price range at tirerack are the BF Goodrich Traction tires. I have them and they are not performance tires but do stick pretty well in the dry unless you are going crazy and are great in the rain. Good all around tire for the price.

That is what I have on my car, I really like them a lot. They have great traction in the dry and wet. I would say these are one of the best all around tires that you could buy.

I have had very good experience with my Bridgestone Potenza's in the midwest: rain/snow/dry. Amazing grip.
