heya! thinking about purchasing an 06' rsx and I remember the 05's have 210 hp. But I alsor ecall that some new law or whatever basically states that all motors dynoed for horsepower must now have all belts attached. So, for PS, AC the car loses 9 hp right?

yes, the tests changed because opf new SAE regulations or something, they are the same motor

It's the same power and same motor. They just changed the way the measure the power. If they were to do the test on an 05 they would get 201hp as well.

No, it doesn't. The engine makes the same amount of power. It's simply the measurement that changed.
Here's an analogy... You have a standard 8.5 inch by 11 inch sheet of paper. You know it's that size because you measured it with a standard ruler. I give you a new ruler with larger than normal inches. Using my ruler, your piece of paper measures 7.6 inches by 9.9 inches. Is it really smaller? No. It's simply the measurement that changed.
Old measuring system calls the K20Z1's output 210 horsepower. The new measuring system calls it 201 horsepower. An '05 or '06 RSX you'd drive off the lot is making the same amount of power in both cases.

haha I KNOW its the same amount of power, but now KNOWING it's 9 hp less because of belts. Im not slow
hehe I was just stating it btohers me that 9 hp is being robbed by belts. I know there is some loss, but if the 200 hp si is rated at 197, they only lost 3. I know it's 210

Yeah... I intended my reply more for the "damn... that sucks" post above mine, but I forgot to quote it. After the other replies saying it's the same power, I didn't want someone to still have the wrong idea.
I wouldn't worry about the rating differences between the RSX and Si... without knowing how or when Honda rated the K20Z3, there's no way to know which rating system they used. It's even possible they aimed for 200 horsepower with the new standard but emissions or fuel economy made them retune slightly. Real-world differences (altitude, gas quality, production differences in specific engines) probably have a bigger impact anyway.
