One Reason Why Mugen Sucks
Went to get my car emission tested today, and they said they can't do it because the are unable to hook the car to anything (I have the Mugen front bumper which has an underbody kit, therefore no tow hooks to keep it in place.) I can't imagine the emission test dyno being any different then a HP/TQ dyno. Now I farked for renewing my plates until I go there with my bumper off, or try an get an exemption somehow.
I guess no one here has ever faced such a problem. [/rant off]

Technically, 99% of what Mugen sells is considered to be competition products for "racing use only." If you put ANY of their parts on your street driven car, there is a chance you will get hassled about it at one point or another. I don't see how this is their fault...
Today, nope they didn't try that, I'm fighting them for a 2 speed idle test (off the dyno.)
There logic is, since it came with tow hooks up front, we [i]might[/] not be able to OK a two speed idle test. Worst comes to worse, the bumper has to come up and I gotta drive there without it.
Just wanted others to know the added hassle of having an underbody kit.
Bob ***, yes I realize they are race products, just some shortcomings in operation on the street that most wouldn't have thought off.

Cool, just got a call back from the head office, if the can't safely dyno your car, they are supposed to do a 2 speed idle test. I'm saved!
