Default 2006 Type -s!

well right now I have a deposit on the next black Si at my local dealership but I went to Neilo Acura the other day to look at the 06 Type-s.. After test driving it I might be changing my mind! The main selling point to me is the fit and finish/ warranty/ price. Ive always liked the 05-06 body I just didnt agree with the price but they are going to give it to me for a lil over invoice ~$22800 which is very close to the Si after a few upgrades like KIT and rims(stock rims are ugly). Im going to have to do some hard thinking very soon. I just have a big feeling that I am going to see way more Si's on the street than type-s' I just want to be a lil different. Not to mention the K20z1 is a great motor What do you guys think? I know theres been a bunch of debates on here already, but getting one for invoice is a lot more appealing.

idk its up to you at least with the RSX theres a lot of stuff u can get for the car already
the si's hot the only thing i like about the SI is the LSD

but im looking myself at an 05 RSX Type S in orange with 7k on it for $20.999 the dealerships want to much for an SI saw one by me they wanted $25K and besides its still a civic ya know i would consider the si if it wasnt so damn much money!!

YEs i know exactly what you mean! its still a civic. Dont get me wrong, its a great car, but I just think that Acura is another level in every aspect. But to each his own right?

I couldnt have put that any better . I live in Sacramento and all I see around here are civics.. I have an 88 CRX Si right now so I guess im on the same boat... But you're right, you dont see too many Type-s' all "riced out" The Si is a great car, but I just know 2 years from now there will be one on every corner

yep and you dont see many younger kids driving the rsx because the prices havent and wont drop for awhile.... If anything get the rsx and put an lsd from the type r and you have yourself an amazing car

im looking at the same dillemma, dc5 or new si ..
right now the new civic still seems more fresh
but maybe because it just came out ...

also, isnt the si a limited production car ?
im sure the new civic will be everywhere, but most of them will be ex or dx, etc.

and everyone talks about the lsd ...
but unless you push the car hard on the regular ...
or plan to make a lot of extra power
i dont see why its such a big deal ... ?

the only reason i want an rsx over the new si is truthfully image and prestige
im 22 and about to graduate .. its time to grow up

will this is my take on things.

im planning to get an 06 si when they are available. i was going to get a rsx type-s but, insurance is way too much. I dont know how much it is in CA. But over here, for an 06 si its about $550 and for the 02-04 type-s its $900, prolly alittle higher for 05-06 maybe $20 or so.

And im not worried about other people having the same car because every1 here have "american cars" and they juss hate on import cars... anyways, i have not seen an 06 si on the streets around here yet. And as for the type-s i've seen about 4 or 5 (not including the one my family has. Yes we have a black 03 RSX type-s).

Either car is fine with me, its basically the same enigine. I juss don't wanna pay $25k for an 06 si when I can get a 03-04 Type-s for $17k. So if the dealers aren't going to be gay about the prices, it looks like I'm getting the civic.

Nope not limited production... Its going to be mass produced like everything else.. Thats the only bad thing.

Only making 15k Si for this year. Each state gets roughly 300 Si. Give or take due to haiwaii and alaska. And here in New York, your not Fly if you drive an acura. If you want to grow up get a benz, audi, infinity,or bmw. But thats in NYC. Acura's are just expensive honda's.

And one more thing. LSD owns DC5, lol.

That doesnt make any sense... We all know that those are luxury cars... But Acura is a step up from a Honda which no one on here will argue... And im 23 years old not 30... When im that age ill look into buying an M3 but until then this is what im getting... LSD owns DC5 huh? Where? On the autoX? The everyday driver wont even notice the difference...Do you race everday? I dont... But then again if you're a rece car driver then you should be driving z06 or m3 or something huh IF that was the case then you wouldnt be on this message board then!! Keep your stupid comments to yourself.

I am 21 and have a si, Your still young and I bet you will pay less on insurance with a honda versus an acura. Look at this way there is nothing wrong with having a civic and being in you twenties when you hit thirty then start looking for that I made it car

And no one on here is arguing that the Si is not a great car... If you read the thread I actually had a deposit on one... But "LSD" is not everything to me.. There are a lot of other factor that im considering besides that...

Very True... Insurance is less... But its all about taste... I just happen to like the look of the 05-06 body of the DC5 a lot.... Plus my buddy is an insurance agent so im gettin a good deal on that Im sure with either car I would be happy... Im movin up from an EF Civic body!!!

U dont make any sense.. I am fully aware that its a honda at heart.... Its the HONDA Integra in Japan..... The conversation on here is that the type-s is a step up in luxury from the Si... ACURA>HONDA...

true. but not to old american employers who dont know **** about hondas.
i live in ny as well, but id rather have a nice respectable sporty car that i can afford
which an rsx s is, much more than a civic

and if i could afford a more expensive car, id get like a new g35 coupe or something
even though its still a nissan
bimmers, benz, audis just arent my style
growing up in westchester NY, im pretty jaded towards euros
besides, i aint tryin to front like im a baller, just dont want to look like a kid anymore

but yea, the 06 si is still hot. im gonna have to test drive both before anything
