Differential tapered roller bearings
If anyone has their tranny case split, or has spares laying around, i could use your help.
I'm looking for the manufacturer's part number for the tapered roller bearings, and the races on each side of the differential. not honda part numbers, the actual manufacturer's numbers that are engraved/etched on one side of the casing of the bearing. (bearing supply co. in town will be much more discounted than OEM prices)
Same goes for the carrier bearing on the intermediate shaft, and the wheel bearings.
Any help much appreciated.

Hey D, let me/us know when you are going to work on your tranny. I'm sure the WTDR crew would love to come up/over and burn your tranny to the ground.
As for the bearings, try calling Mike K, he should have the specs on them so you can just tell the local place and they should be able to match them. He might even have some in stock and could read the numbers off it for you.

Hey, this reminds me the Shop Manual update I got. It says they no longer use tapered bearings but just ball bearings instead in Euro ITRs from 1998....... FYI.

This is from a 1998 parts diagram....shrug, 97 looks the same.

Item 17 is what i'm talking about.... hrm, doesn't look like a tapered bearing in there.... in helms, looks very much like a tapered roller bearing. anyone have a tranny sitting next to them? i don't much feel like taking mine apart today.

any 94/95 gsr and some 97 type r comes wiht the tapered, you can use the square ones instead and save the cost of the tapered, just need the c-clip which is very chip. I've done them many times.

Still lookin for the part number?
I have one cracked open in my basement right now... but I'm lazy to go look at it....the new bearings don't need to have thrust clearances checked I dun think.....
98+ is simpler this way.....
