what size of air compressor you reccomend me to get?
hello everybody
well... its time to buy an air compressor...
what size do you think i will need?
i need it for a 2 cars garage, most of the work will be with a impect wrench, die grinder and somtimes plasma...

You will want a bare min of 6cfm at 90psi to run a impact gun.Do you have 230V available for it?What does the plasma require for cfm?

my rule of thumb was buy as big as you can afford. youl be salty to find out ehat a $1000 compressor still want enought to operate a dye grinder properly. i have 7.5 hp 80 gal 27 cfm 2 stage compressor.
my other suggestioon it to get a 2 stage no matter what.

you need all the air you can get..bigger better..dont have to wait for the compressor to recharge after 30 secs of use..

get an ingersoll compressor. i got a 2 stage 60 gallon 15 cfm at 175 psi. this is more than enough for personal use. i use dynabrade da's with no problems. these da's require 14 cfm at 90. die grinders run the same. i can run it all day and the tank pressure doesn't go below 140. i also have a lincoln pro cut 55 plasma cutter and it requires about 6 cfm so obviously it will handle a plasma. unless your running a shop with multiple air lines for everyone in the shop this should be enough for you. it cost around 1300.
