the lights work when i switch it to on or off but when i leave it in the middle where its supposed to stay on untill my door closes doesnt work...anyone know how to fix this?? i got a 97 civic..thanks

 

Check the door switch, the screw propably has come corosion on it so its not making contact.

if it did have corrosion and didnt make contact, wouldnt my alarm not know if my door is open or not when i arm it?? cause my alarm works properly...or is there another door switch thas connected with the light??

 

I have the same problem, but I have a multimeter. I checked it via the Helms book, switch is bad. Used one, 10$ on ebay.

yeap door switch for sure!

 

if you have an aftermarket radio you have to put a jumper wire across the green plug behind your radio for the dome light to work with the door . I think the colors on the wires are lt. green/black, and lt. green/ red. jump them together and it should work. if these are the wrong colors some one correct me.

 

Really? WEll I do have a Kendood CD player. I don't know why Honda runs this kinda **** (keyless ignition) through its radios.

Yes. If you have an aftermarket radio on your honda. The Dome light stops working and you have to do something like that posted Above.

Yeah, it just turns out bein a huge hassle. It took me a while to figure out it was my deck that was screwin with my ek's dome light. Atleast they arent as bad as VWs

what if i still got the stock deck still in??

 

then pull it out and make sure the green plug is plugged in.

 

those colors are the right ones, did it today loving my doom light again

can speaker wire be used as a jumper wire for this to connect those wires together?? or what do i use to connect them?? what kind of wire is it called?
