Default gas pedal in, rpm drop. wtf?

hello guys

maybe its just in my head, but lately, it seems / feels like my car doesnt really have the umph it used to have this summer.

before i go any further, i have a ej8 auto d16y8.

when im crusing at 40-45 at a steady 2.5k rpm and i want to give it a little more gas, the rpms slowly climb to 3k and then all of a sudden it drops down to 2.5k again?

the car doesnt seem to want to move much unless i give the gas a good punch (which i want to avoid doing).

anybody know the cause? all maintenance was done recently.

gahh i wish i had a 5spd.

thanks

It automatic, when u give it alittle gas the tranny shifts into a higher gear, u can be in forth gear going extreamly slow.

Try doing a transmission fluid change. The transmission works more or less off of pressure from the motor. If theres not enough pressure it wont want to move.
