RSX theft rate?
how bad is the theft rate for rsx regular?
i might be getting one in march but i know acuras are among the most stolen cars so that worries me a bit.
car is most likely going to be auto but small chance stick....
if you dont me asking how many times have your rsx been attempted to be stolen?

Well it was reported on a local board that someone had their 2005 base automatic stolen. I would say that it's very irregular though. Look on this forum compared to the Type R or Civic/Integra forums.
When I had my RSX there were zero attempts on it being stolen.

Car thiefs are gonna base stealing a car on many factors... a few I would think would be obvious would be
A) How easy is it to steal? Most of the Japenese cars have immobilizer (chip in the key) making it harder to steal than say a 95 Civic. It can still be stolen but it will take more time.
B) Is the location of the car in a spot they will have a few minutes of uninterupted time to steal it? AKA don't park in shady areas if it can be avoided.
C) What are they gonna get outta the car when they have stolen it? Base RSX with Auto...not a whole lot that 'chop shops' would use out of it. Not saying your car is garbage, but if someone is gonna risk a felony charge and steal a car, they probably will find a type S.... As there is a much bigger market for the motor/tranny/leather seats/cluster/ect....
Any car can be stolen... There is a huge market for acura/honda stuff, hence why they are near the top of all 'most stolen lists'. ITR interiors are worth a mint, and the motor is as well... Along with the suspension, etc... This sellable stuff would make this car a 'hot item'.
I went to school for criminal justice and did some training with the local police department.... So don't get the wrong idea with my info, I didn't learn this stuff first hand
