CEL for low EGR flow: 98 Accord V6 (Service Bulletin 99-085)
I got this CEL for low EGR flow on my 98 accord v6. I went to the dealer because of this warranty service notice: http://www.driveaccord.net/PDF...g.pdf
But Im 20,000 miles over the limit to get this fixed so I'll have to do it myself.
My question is, do I really need to replace the EGR valve or can I just do the pipe kit install and see if it works? Has anyone done this fix involving removing the intake manifold? I spent an hour searching for info on this an nobody on this board seems to mention a pipe kit or removing the manifold.

you can clean the EGR valve as long as it is functional and you wll definately want to install the pipe kit. I'd talk to the dealer as I was at 90K and the did it for free on my car just this last month.
I tried that. Im at about 104k miles. I just bought the car at 101k so im kinda pissed the previous owner (my wife's grandfather) didnt take it in for the free service. Im not sure what angle to use to get them to do it but so far 2 attempts have failed. I have one dealership left to try.
