HELP! Axle Keeps pulling out of CV joint.
A friend of mine has an 89 b18a1 crx that he recently bought, when he bought the car it was pretty much slammed on what looked like tanabe or intrax springs but the car hadn't been aligned yet. So he goes to the local merchants tire to get an alignment. the car drove fine for about the first couple days or so but after that the camber was getting visibly worse and worse so he takes it back to the shop to see why it is doing this and as he turns into the parking lot his drivers side axle rips out of the cv joint. later on that night me and him replace it with a new axle at which time we notice his camber kit blots were only finger tight. Anyways, we get the axle in, he backs up and starts to test drive it in the lot but the secong or third right turn he made ripped the brand new axle out of the cv joint just like thge old one. The shop denies them doing anything wrong and won't fix it, anybody have any idea of what could be causing this? It hadn't started until after the alignment.

I used to do alignments myself and don't see how that could have done it, all you mess with are the tierods on stock vehicles. Even adjusting camber should not cause this, the only thing that comes to mind other than having an axle to short is that maybe there is somehow some frame damage? I bent the frame on my Integra on the pass side and the axle would not fit anymore with out a frame pull. Yours could be just enough out to make your axle do this but It is weird as hell you say it happened only after the alignment?? Unless the shop did something that they did not admit I just don't see how they could have caused it. Depending on where you got your axle from could also cause a problem, I noticed that around here Napa and Autozone use the same part numbers but they use them on opposite sides meaning if you don't know which length you need on each side you could put one in that's too short and would also cause this problem. On my own CRX my pass side LCA was bad and before I realized that I was having all kinds of popping issues that I thought was my axle, it's all fine now but while I was going through my 1st EF swap I learned all kinds of things due to the crap I had to deal with fixing my REX.
