Just goto home depot or ace hardware and buy some spacers and longer bolts.
I did it on my beater to get rid of some heat from the turbo setup... other than that I think it looks awefull

Why would you want to do something like this? Is it some new "JDM" mod or something? Not knocking on it but why?

Here's what I did and there's no need for truck bushings or washers.
1. The night before, check your fluids and then shut your hood.
2. Forget to double check that it is latched down securely.
3. The next morning, drive to work on the highway.
4. Let wind blow open your hood, smash into your windshield, break the hinge on the passenger side, fly over to the driver's side, hit mirror, scrape on roadway and then fly back onto engine bay.
5. Blame the 15+ year old latch. (I'm still a believer that my latch gave out, rather than me forgeting to push down on the hood the night before)
Not only do I have the rear of the hood raised for venting heat from the engine bay, but my hood's got a sort of gangsta lean to it. Adds flava, don't ya think?
Hood has been rebent back into a somewhat original shape and the hinges have been replace with some from the junkyard.
Anyways, I always wondered why peoples hoods were like that. Now I know.

Well some people do it because they think its the "JDM" thing to do Im sure..But on the other hand what if you have a b18c,lsvtec, or b20vtec that doesnt quite fit right under the stock hood.? You can do the washer trick and it make it fit..Or on the other hand people have been doing this since way way back when..Alot of the old "hot rod" people did this..helps with venting hot air,,and also acts like a cowl type setup..

I have used the spacers from the fuel rail and longer 10MM bolts. I only have it done to reduce extreme heat under the hood. Extreme heat = big turbo + Ram horn manifold.
I can understand doing this if you have no other choice. Whether it be for clearance, ventilation, or whatever. But doing it for the look of it? That's like putting drag skinnies on the back of your car. Very functional on a drag strip, but really stupid looking on the street.

damn serious how can I do that...I think with the gangsta lean it will add 20hp of cold air to the motor... also where is that jiberish jaberish BRI at...cant wait to see him post to something like this
