dude its not that loud is it???
do you have like an exhaust system or anything.....
and plus if you were to get all of the intake box and what not then you will be drowning out the noise of your beautiful vtec.....
but to answer your question it will be like alot quieter if you do put on the stock intake box....
but dude i my self wouldnt reccomend that you do that..

you can always check into the comptech intake kit. it has a black plastic enclosure for the filter. i have seen some for b16s, or see if you can use an itr stock intake box with a drop in (like K&N) filter or a legend stock box with drop in filter. i remember seeing those being options for GSRs that didnt want to use the AEM style intakes and still get more flow.

if you can get your hands on the JDM EF B16 tube that'll work (better). If you use the JDM air box you need to fabricate some brackets though, but it'll fit no problem. Just need to track down a K&N filter though.

try changing the cone or cleaning it than it will not whistle... chances are there was a hole in it alot of the cheap ones will do that but if it really was a AEM than it probaly just needed to be cleaned

i have an injen and its hardly loud at all

I dont have any pics of my setup..But what you do is keep the stock intake box and get the rubber intake arm from a 90-93 integra,,its bigger then the stock arm..You have to trim just a bit though..
