what will my insurance co. cover?? who has gone thought this b4?? my teg is selling used for 19,000 this sucks!!!! It was drag turbo'd too!!! What the hell do i have to look forward to? I put an easy 5000 into the car, do i have any chance of getting that back??? what is my 99 4dr gsr worth?

the story
i was going one way the 79yr old man was coming from the other way. The old fart trying to make a left off of the road. NO ARROW! just a green light.

the car is done! turbo ...maybe i could save some parts but.....

 

i just wrecked my integra.

it was totally my fault, i didn't see a light and a van smacked me into a traffic light taking it down. The whole thing is tottalled.

i only had one way insurance (liability) so i can't get anything. So i took it to a garage to strip down, from the dash to the engine to watever was salavagable.

Since it was the old guys fault. even if you have one way like me, your insurance company will try to get money from the old guys insurance company. If you have full coverage than your set. If the damage is severe they'll total the car and buy you a new one. If its not as extreme you will get money to fix it.

i just lost my integra, so im selling parts to buy a civic. I took everything off the integra hoping to make the civic like my integra. Oh yeah your insurance will go up now.

 

I totaled mine...some jerk slammed into me from behind...I got paid for everything in my car...First they paid me for just the Market value of the car, then i sent them receipts for everything in the car that I had, and they sent me another check for the value of everything in it...The only thing I am dealing with now is all the medical bills I still have.

You didn't say outright, but I'm assuming the other driver was found at fault?

If this is the case, his insurance company should be responsible to all damage done to your car as a result of the accident- If they aren't fully reibursing you, then talk to a lawyer. Your own insurance company can claim some aftermarket accessories aren't covered (depending on your policy) but his insurance has to compensate you for your complete losses.

I thought since the old guy was at fault, the insurance from the old guy pays. How is his 4dr's insurance gonna go up when he isnt going to claim on his insurance??

hey BOM, its me james, yo u crashed cause you didnt see the light? is there a reason you didnt see the light? were they any other factors involved? Alot of things can lead up to an accident. analyze everything that happened..hahaha...juss playin bom......damn just bad luck i guess....hey but i heard u said ur gonna get a type R...everyone at hondatech holds u up to that... why dont u keep it real and get a kia with with turbo charged air fresheners....you'll be running low 11's with those.

hmm I'm not sure yet.. car just got jacked and the paperwork just went in today .. since its 95 and to total it its 65% of the value or sumthing Im guessing their gonna total it = (.. damn I easily spent over $10K in mods... btw has anyone dealt w/ AllState Insurance Co? I had full coverage.. how long do they take to do the claims and everything? and what mods will they cover.. I have full reciepts and have made copies of most of them before the car was taken.. so are they going to cover everything?

Like I said this morning on the phone, don't settle if the value is too low, and have receipts for everything you can. They will not want to pay at first hoping u will just accept. Argue with them. Ans YES, I did injur my spine

going price to buy a used one is 17285.00--->20990.00 (that sounds more like it )

hey for those of you who have dealt w/ insurance (Allstate).. after they total your car.. can you take your mods back? like after they cut you a check for the car it becomes the property of the insurance comp rite? (or at least thas what my agent told me)..

so can u take back ur mods/de-install them from whats left of your car? like say you want your car audio and suspension stuff from a totalled car.. after they cut you the check? also when u dispute w/ them on the price their going to give you.. where do you ppl get the prices.. from kbb.com? edmunds.com? or do you get a photobuys and fnd a comparable car on the market and show them those prices.. any info would be appreciated.. especially if you have dealt w/ Allstate insurance comp...

 

4DrGSRatwork: when i went to kbb.com and entered a 99 4 door GSR's private party worth (under whats my blue book value section) and put that it had 25,000 miles and in excellent condition it said it was worth 16K in Cali...

it also says my 95 is worth $8,200 w/ 100K miles, in excellent condition in Cali.. so is this what insurance is gonna give if they total it.. and do i get to take back my mods? any1 who has dealt w/ insurance totalling your car lemme kno.. thanks..

 

private party value is 14605.oo

but you will never sell a gsr for 14600 out there, its worth far more.

well wednesday i find out for real what they claim its worth or what the damage is.

 

I crashed mine..but it wasnt my fault...some dumass old lady ran a stop sign..but my car wasnt totalled...luckily..

My friend's 94 Civic EX was valued at $12,500 with over 115,000 miles on it. They were gonna total until they found out how much it was valued at. If that helps any...

 

i totalled my 95 civic ex w/ 55,000 miles last year April 01. I got $9,300 for it in TX. That was with mods that easily valued $3,000. I guess I was lucky, I bought the car 2 years before that for $8,000, so with depreciation and stuff I guess I made out fine. My teg cost 12,000 for a 97 w/ 39k on it. The accident wasn't my fault and so the other insurance paid for everything including mods. I didn't even have to show receipts! Good Luck man.

all the numbers i come up w/ are low.... help me out. where do these numbers REALLY come from? Im glad to see other people are getting there money's worth for their cars.

 

hey 4 drgsr are you selling the suspension from the gsr? (like trailing arms lca brakes etc entire sus) if so id be willing to buy it from you.
