Default crx sputters

my 88crx hf sputters when i start the car and tap on the gas a bit, but when its above 1000rpm its ok it just happens when i give it a bit of gass, it has a jdm zc sohc swap, ima using a 89 pm6 ecu, and the check engine light is on to, but the coolant sensor and the oxygen sensor was replaced, so i dont know what the problem is, could it be the ecu cuz the wiring at first was wrong , could that hav slightly fried the ecu, it starts, but that sputtering is weird and the check engine light is on, i dont knw what it can be. if anybody can help me please do

I was frantic as I was bout to sell the car, and since it started doin that, I figured I'd make it look better for the buyer by changin out the messed up valve cover on it for a newer cleaner one. When I did, I swapped the gaskets too. Long story short, the guy bought a car that doesnt putter, and my other CRX now has the ugly cover and the puttering problem. So for me, the solution was a new valve cover gasket. If this sounds similar to your car's problem, give it a try, their an easy fix, and relativly cheap
Or better yet, just remove your valve cover and check your VC gasket, if it looks rough, that could be it???</TD></TR></TABLE>

I GUESS BUT HOW ABOUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, I THINK THAT IS WHATS CAUSING IT I DONT KNOW THO, COULD THE ECU BE PARTIAL FRIED OR MESSED UP

Haha, at school huh, 11am your next study hall? Gotta give it up to the kids who are at school learning.....about honda's on HT.
I'm assuming by the "check engine light causing it" you mean the ECU, IDK if that could be it or not.
A more vivid description may help, and if you can get video/audio by any chance later, that may help.</TD></TR></TABLE>

yeah i think it might be the ecu, i can get a 15 second clip maybe of what is going on but that wont be till my friend lends me his camera
