someone's selling these seats and he bought them from a shop in the bay area. i forget which one, but he says they are jdm recaro seats. he thinks they are either srd 3 or sr3 seats. there are two seats but only one seat is depicted below. he says that one seat has recaro stitched in the back and the other one does not. he says that both seats are identical except for that fact. is there a possiblity that one of them is a fake? i'm a newbie to seats, so can anyone help me identify these seats? thanks in advance...

 

The Recaro in your pictures looks like an SRD model. I didn't know they came with a white logo though. As far as being the real deal 'JDM Recaros' I'm afraid that is not one of them.

The JDM recaros are wrapped in a few spots with Alcantera (the same thing the USDM Type-R seats are wrapped with) and the Recaro logo is much smaller and in red....on the black seat. On the yellow seats the logo is black and on the red seats the logo is black.

As far as the other seat not having a logo, that is probably suspect on being a fake. What's the guy asking for the set?

Search the first and second page of the ITR section. There have been at least three dudes who have recently purchased JDM recaro's. There are pictures for reference.

thanks for the help guys. i knew what the itr seats looked like, but the guy told me he wasnt sure what car they came out of, so i thought maybe they were some kind of jdm seats that i havent seen before.

the guy was asking for 1100 with sliders and brackets btw. i guess ill just pick up some brand new speed seats from recaro. thanks again.

 

there are none usdm recaro srd comes with white "recaro" word on the seat without the white stitch on the seat
it should be either the jdm first SRD or SRII
if you want to know how JDM SRIII looks like, you can go to the japan recaro website
they have the pic for all model of their seats

 

when getting Recaros (that WEREN'T OEM for a honda), you can get almost any color of lettering or stitching, or you could at some time.

I'd say that one pictured is very real, and the other one with "Recaro" also written on the back is just a newer model, as they started doing that recently.

I've owned about 6 different SR/SRD's while i was in Japan for 2 years. That stuff's legit.
