k&n cold air intake
do the k&n cold air intakes come ready to be installed, or do you need to buy the kit to prep the filter. i figured that if i was gonna buy one, i would like it to be ready to be installed right out the box.
im sure this question has prolly been asked before, but i couldnt find answers when i searched.

The filter is ready to use, you can tell because it's reddish, that means there's oil on it already. Once you get around to cleaning your filter, you'll notice that when you wash it the filter becomes whitish because there is no oil on it. But if you're getting a cone filter then maybe you want to think about getting AEM's new dry filter, no oil recharge kit needed. I'm thinking about switching to that.

AEM's new line filter is around 10dollar more, try it and see if you like it. so i can make my decision base on that
k&N filter are already preoiled, but again, what's the point of getting a K&N without the recharge kit?
