Default Avid rod shift linkage for the H-series.

Well since NHRA will not let me run the h2b adapter plate, i want to try to eliminate the hseries weakpoint. The shift linkage! This rod **** linkage, i don't know much about. Who has this and how well does this work for you? Do i need to cut into the firewall? Or is this a direct bolt on. Come on someone out there has got to have this. Thanks

This freakin' Avid linkage is like Sasquatch. I've never actually seen a picture of it installed!

The H2B setup is not legal in NHRA for sportsman classes (Sport FWD and Street Stock). It is allowed in pro classes (All Motor, Hot Rod, Pro FWD), but there might be a weight penalty. Check the rules specific to your particular class.

You have to run solid mounts with these shift bars..and I would say that the would definitely make for A way more accurate shift then the cables, they would have to with everything solid.

well solid mounts would deffinetly help steves advantage for the top mount on movement and the way the wastegate sits solid hasport mounts and radius arms to the block off the traction bar

Has anybody ever looked into upgrading to bigger cables for the shifter? They make them, and i can't see any reason they wouldn't work if the problem is the cables flexing. Look into Morse cables, they have ALOT of different sizes and end options. They can build custom stuff as well.

I don't know if the Morse cables can handle that abuse I always had problems with the crimped ends separating from the cable sleeve after time, I have had better luck with Cablecraft they make alot beefer cables, they have alot more options as far as cable sizes and quality. I think they make them as big as 3/8"... you put both brands side by side and you'll see the differents.

Just got a catalog from a company I talked to at PRI about cables like this for a K series all motor car. http://www.ringspann.com They say they've worked with Formula 1, Champ cars, IRL, Big Foot lol, and various drag cars. They supplied the shifter cables to Ford for the Ford GT project. I'll assume their stuff is good! lol
