Hey peeps, i got a 98 ex coupe and when i start to brake it shakes like crazy. The steering wheel shakes and the whole car starts to vibrate. What could it be?? Rotors, axles, alignment? Any help would be appreciated.
sounds like rotors, if they will still be within specified thickness you can have them cut on a brake lathe, if not you will have to replace them...does it shake in just the steering wheel or do you feel it in the seats? general rule of thumb is if you feel it in the seats its the rear and steering wheel is up front.
as 1jdmferio mentioned, if theyre within the acceptable thickness range you can have them recut, most anywhere that does brakes can do that for you.
if the rotors are too worn you can get replacement rotors for around 30 bucks depending on brand, ive got brembo blanks and they work great for me, those were a bit more expensive around 60 if i recall
