indash with screen in a 3g integra?
i like to know if anyone have put in a deck with a screen into a 3g integra. it looks like it would fit - the screen might be at a awkward position (blocking climate controls) but i think it'll work. crutchfield said it might cause a problem. anyone have a picture of how it looks?

lol, Do I detect sarasm?, lol. Well if you put it in it would play upside down and backwards. Its good to get this posted right away it the first time someone asked about a double din radio. In a g3 teg.
Allright all fun aside. There have been many post about this topic. I pulled up 3. There are some good info on them. The g3 is a perfecy car for a dd radio. And it looks great. I don't see why there should be a problem, What did crutchfield say about it?, post some info on what they said was going to happen.

I searched the archives...
You need to mount the unit on the bottom and put the pocket on top. You also should consider purchasing a deck that has a function to adjust how far it sticks out of the chassis, that way you can slide it out a lil bit so it clears your controls.

I don't know why I was thinking about a double din radio. "shakes heads". denpending on what model flip out you got. It becomes a issue. most people flip the mounting kit. And bingo. there you go.

no air vents is pretty lame.....but i need that **** down here....it's hot as hell
and to solve ur problem
2 options
if you have a single din indash...put it in the lower pocket....it will fit fine...alpines have a nice slide feature and good tilt
the other option...which i went....is a double din full screen....
i got the eclipse.....AVN2454....it's pretty pimp
i;m switching it up for the newer harddrive model
i think the double din is the way to go...looks alot cleaner...and does not block any controls
and even is harder to see from outside the car

One problem we have run into, if installing HUs DVD or otherwise if they are "high power" and amp is in the HU, [and you are using it] overheating is an issue, there is not a lot of room in there so air circulation is limited, one reason for making sure the vent is sealed, hot air blowing on the back of the HU is not a good thing, even if there is no amp or your not using it.
