I've said this in the past (and in another recent thread), but it's worth repeating. People too often concern themselves with a header's configuration, rather than concentrating on selecting a quality, high-performance unit. An excellent 4-1 header will perform much better across the RPM range than a poorly designed and constructed 4-2-1, and vice versa. Set a budget, then shop for the best header than fits within that.
