Alright, so i bought this 97 honda civic dx used from this guy 3 weeks ago. Yesterday it the engine stalled, so we took it to the mechanic and he said that he didn't see anything wrong with it except for that maybe it needed the 120K maintenance, also it might need a timing belt.

-so i'm wondering, would engine stalling be a result of timing belt?
-i can't really tell if the last owner changed it or not and i can't find his phone number, so should i just change it anyways?
-what else could cause engine stalling?
-when i turn engine on, it sounds fine but then slows down.
