Default SOHC Turbo hits the dyno.

Took my piece ot the dyno today. Figured some sohc turbo guys would like to see this.

Setup:
stock y7 motor.
z6 intake manifold.
t3 .42 / .48 (thought i had a super 60)
external wastegate.
12 psi.

Times:
13.60000000000 @ 105 MPH. 2.3 60'.
fatass weighed 2388 when I ran that.

185 HP/ 174 TQ

Paul from TurboTrix was saying that my cat is really holding me back. I was going to undo my exhaust but I wanted to show numbers that I really run on the street, not changing anything.

Big thanks to the following people:
Drew and Robbo for helping me put my turbo kit on.
High Velocity for my exhaust, and pipe work.
Jeff and Cliff at Stage 2 Performance for REALLY helping me out with buying the turbo.
Sean for selling me quailty **** for cheap.
Paul for really hooking me up with running on the dyno.

Nice numbers, i'm kind suprised you didn't hit 200whp with a T3 super 60 at 12psi. Nice times too.

It is because of the cat. I want to go back with a test pipe or just unbolt my downpipe and see what it runs then. I'm betting 200 no problem.

if I don't hit 200 whp once the cat is off with the straight pipe, somethings wrong.

Thanks, im hoping to get 13.000's on slicks this season, see how that goes.

It's street tuned, never tuned on the dyno.

Special thanks to YOU for helping me with the intake manifold

I should be able to do it on street tires... This is true.

Did you have a vtec head? Did you not run a cat? What did you tune with? Dyno tune? Street tune?

It all comes into play.

never said i didnt believe you. no need to get all defensive. I'm just saying that the vtec head flows better than a non-vtec head. That is why you made more power than me with 8 psi. That's all.

so your running a stock exhaust after the downpipe?

either way with a cat on there it is really restricting airflow, remember, the less back pressure the better. so that cat/stock exhaust is killing you.

the vtec head is also a big advantage, it flows a hell of alot better and the vtec highprofile lobe really helps with power up top.

nice times and numbers though

btw, how in the hell did you get your ek to weigh in at 2388? my 2000 hatch weighed in at about 2400 w/out driver with no ac/ps, gutted rear.

Ha, no no... 2.5 inch exhaust after the cat.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by larve farva &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">btw, how in the hell did you get your ek to weigh in at 2388? my 2000 hatch weighed in at about 2400 w/out driver with no ac/ps, gutted rear.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I actually had everything in my car besides my back seats. No, spare tire, A/C, my toolbox, book bag with about 50 pounds in it and all four cd cases... Maybe its my CF Duckbill? I had my rear panels in with the speakers in it still.

2388 with me in it too (I'm 145). Maybe the E-town scale is just nice to me?

I think you guys are blaming the car and are wrogn for that. I used to run a greddy kit and that's a tiny turbo and on 9.2 lbs of boost it made 210 hp @192 torque.
This tells me he has many otehr factors to look at. first off get rid of that crappy tiny assed plentium on a stocker intake. get yourself at least a 96+ EX intake.
Next, your having your turbo suck hot air, WTF????? GEt a nice pipe on there up allow it to pull fresh clean cooler air. it will help out a ton!
finally that intake has to go. (did I mention that already???? )
