Hasport/Full Race/Pinks drag car "Honda vs VW"
I realize this is kind of a repost, but I wanted to start fresh so the conversation was accurate.
Full Race and Hasport are teaming up to build a drag car to race on the season Finale of Pinks. Together we are building a turbo B-series CRX with the goal of mid 10 second 1/4 mile times. The race will occur on Friday March 3rd @ 3 pm at the Speedworld Motorplex.
We are currently recruiting some other manufacturers for help with the build. Besides Full Race and Hasport, other contributors include Progress Suspension, TurboXS, and Manley. I would like to use this post to document the build up and list sponsors who are contributing.
This isn't the typical Pinks show where the winner walks away with the other team's car. The winner's and loser's cars will be auctioned, raffled or otherwise sold after the airing of the episode. The Air Cooled VW team and the Honda Team have chosen charities and the winner's charity will be the beneficiary. Our chosen charity is the American Diabetes Association.
Look for updates soon.
Thanks,
Brian Gillespie

the air cooled vw is gonna walk all over the honda, i can't even see this being close, not trying to be a dick, but i think its pretty obvious
whatever happened to "it does not matter if you win or lose.what matters is working together as a team and having fun"
win or lose a charity will walk away with a victory and thats what matters..

It doesn't matter if the cars are evenly match or not. If you have ever watched the show, it is like a street race. If your car is slower you can negotiate to get cars and/or the kick or what ever you may need. In the end, it is all about who is the smarter negotiator. Anyways, win or lose it is for charity, not like your going to win someone elses car if you do win on the show, both cars are getting donated.
Bump for a good cause. Hope the build goes well, good luck.

i watched the show , i think the people asking for cars shouldn't even be racing , kinda stupid, i watched one were they gave some pontiac 6000 or some car like that i think it was 20 cars , come on what kinda race is that????
but ya its for charity i think it would be better if it was a water cooled vw more relevance then an air cooled one , the vw vs honda rivalry isn't air cooled involved if you know what i mean

Maybe your math is more advanced than mine but the way I figure it if you have two cars that run a 10.5 in the 1/4 the difference is usually only the reaction time.

i am not sure what you mean but put it this way
a bug runs 10.5 is quick but easy to do
a honda runs 10.5 and thats fast
who said that either will run 10.5 ???

I bet that vw won't be running mid 10s when it gets to the track. You guys are going to get owned if you show up with a 10 second car. Just get Jason Hunts car and go do the damn thang.
Both teams have agreed to build a 10.5 car. There's no incentive to build a faster car other than ego. Honesty will out weigh that incentive.
