Default Front Lower Control arms.

My Wifes front lower control arm bushings are going out and I wanted to know if its worth replacing the whole lower arm or just the bushings? The cheapest I'm finding the arm replacement is about $220 per arm and that just seems a bit high to me where the bushings are about $20 a pop X 4. Any suggestions on better prices or should I just press in new bushings?

Btw its a 94 Integra LS 3 Door.

Thanks,
Jon

If you can pull the arm and have them pressed, it will obviously be cheaper.

Bear in mind - urethane bushings may sound louder.

You must have researched a good amount to get those prices or have a dealership discount. I'm assuming thats for a new lca. It list 230 on http://www.acuraparts247.com

You can look into buying used lower control arms, it will definitely be cheaper, but condition may vary. A friend purchased a gsr front sway bar set which includes the front lower control arms for around $120 shipped cross country. You may be able find a similiar deal by searching the classifieds.

If you have access to a press, then I don't see any other reason you soundn't just buy the bushings. It may be a few more minutes/hour of labor, but it is the cheapest, and its a new bushing.

Thanks for the replies all, I think I'll just hop under it and see if I can pull the arms and bring them somewhere to press the new bushings. The labor for that should still bring the whole project to less than a single arm.

That seems like the best route - you keep the original parts (the metal is certainly fine) and can upgrade to an a.market part.

Good luck
