stock 6 disc changer
so i bought my accord from a used car dealer. a couple days later, i realized it ahd a 6 cd changer mounted in the trunk. i dont know how i missed that when i bought it cuz i looked the whole car over. the factory stereo was swapped out for an alpine deck. now the cd changer wont work - and its not an aftermarket one, its an actual honda 6 disc changer. i pretty sure that you cant hook it up to the alpine deck, but im gonna ask anyway...is there anyway i can get it to work with the whats in the car now?
if not... its for sale.

First question I'd ask is:
Does your Alpine have provisions to control a remote CD Changer? Most all of this type utilize a 6 pin DIN plug on the back of the radio chassis where the two connect.
This is quite common with Honda. Even Civic Radios use this for remote mounted CD and Tape drives.
A more definitive answer could probably be had from one of the more knowledgeable Audio installers in your area.

What is the model number of the head unit, and what are the markings on the cd changer?
Did you install the Alpine head unit, or was it in there when you bought it?
I have an Alpine CDA 7839 in my Volvo, it has CD changer capability. That model is from '99. In my Honda ('99 LX) I have the opposite of what you have, I have the OEM head unit with a trunk mounted Alpine CD changer.

if you want it to work, just get a honda head unit that can controll a cd player. All accords 1998 to 2002 can control a CD player even if there isn't one installed at the time the car was made (all of the head units have a DIN jack)

i thought about doin that. i had my civic stolen two months ago and when the cops found it 4 days later, it was missin all the stereo. but that was a 1990 car with power nothin, so there was no security system. this car does have a good security system, even though i know that wont stop someone from breaking the windows or doin whatever they have to do to steal the stereo. but since this accord it came with the aftermarket alpine deck, im just gonna leave it.
