to all B16/CRX drivers...
I am considering a B16 swap for my 89 Hf. I currently have a zc and it's allright. I am looking for a bit more power though. I have heard a few bad things about putting B16 in a CRX.
I've heard that the HASport mounts don't put the motor in the right spot and you get crazy torque steer. I've heard that you can't run an AC because the engine is too close to the front crossmember.
Is any of this true? Are you happy with your swap? Thanks, I'm just trying to decide if I should junk the ZC or build it.

have you heard anything about HCP Engineering?
Thats what im using and i have ni complaints.. Well maybe just one.... the adjustable shift linkages.... But hey you cannot complain for something that is INCLUDED IN THE KIT....
You get more for your money by doing a HCP...
HASport has very nice mounts though... the new style is a little bit too blingtastic for me, but thats me...

Im happy with my swap. ive heard good things about HCP but I would stay away from the adjustable shift linkage. Ive seen people with AC in their b16 crx, I personally took mine out .. its hot i just roll downall the windowsand drive faster
Tourqe steer on a b16 is not bad at all mine almost feels like original. Goodluck

I'm happy with my B16 Crx, even tho I'm selling it bc I am moving, and going back to school. It's a blast to drive, especially on the freeway.
I wish I could keep mine, but I'm getting layed off in a month and I need the money for school also.
Oh yeah, almost forgot I have A/C too, mandatory in Texas

HCP offers in my opinion the best mounts at the best price. Hasport is good too but price is better for the HCP kit.
I have no problems or complaints about the mounts or the linkage. just use lock tight and the linkage will be stable.

I have had no problems at all with HASport on my own, and several customer cars, aside from slight idle vibration on a fully stripped car using the hard rear mount. There's barely any more torque steer than on a 99-00 Si, which is accountable to less weight. Once you install the HASport kit you won't have any regrets, and it's worth every penny for the level of quality.

I wiould probably use the hcp or place racing kit unless you want to be an oddball like me< I put my b16 in my 88 rex si without using a mount kit at all.I know the secret.I enjoy my b16 and my buds car has zc and hes pretty fastt.I would say you would be better off going ls or b20 they have more torque and can be added onto nicely. If you want to know how to do b-series without mount kit hit me up my email is on my profile.
