the motor i have in my car has a bent valve...my question is wil it hurt anything to drive for a week or two till i get my new head from the machine shop....as long as i dont get on it?

 

Driving with the bent valve will only hurt the engine more..

Bent valves wont seat with the head and they will rub against the head screwing it up..And what happends the valve drops? $$$$$$$..You'll need a whoel engine then..Or lots of machine work..Just get a rental car for a week or whatever

 

whats a easy way to tell and make sure a valve is bent...

 

Well the motor would have a rough bad idle,it would bog alot,sometimes even die out on you..You can do a compression test or leakdown test also to see whats up..Pulling the head would be the certain way to find out obviously..

 

at idle it makes a kind of putt sound...haven't drove it yet doesn't have exhaust on it
