i was wondering if i can use stock retainers with upgraded valve springs like rocket motorsports springs. The cams have a max lift of .371.

I am having to change the stocks ones out because the valve stem seals keep getting mashed and destroyed. I also noticed the stock springs come really close to binding. Any input would be appreciated

 

imo if your sotck retainer is mashing the stem seals, your gonna have to figure out some way to increase teh clearance between the two.

putting on stiffer springs will still generate teh same amount of lift, so that wont solve your problem.
