v6 accord firing order? need to do valve adjustment
i need to do a valve adjustment on a 2000 accord ex v6. it has the individual coils on it so i dont know what the firing order is to do this. anybody have any links to a shop manual that has the instructions?
thanks.
thanks.
it's easy.....on the cam cover on the front of the motor there's a little rubber plug....remove that plug. and you'll see a window to the cam gear and sharp plastic edge...the is the position indicator. you will also notice there are numbers stamped onto the cam gear...and there's a groove under it. turn the crank clockwise by hand....when the point lines up with the groove beneath the number go to the cylinder that is identified by the number...so if you see a 1...adjust the valves on cylinder 1. and the cylinder order is from the timing belt to the tranny on the bank facing the front of the car 1 2 3 and on the back bank....from the timing belt to the tranny 4 5 6
I dont know about your year but my GF has a 96 and the valves are hydraulic. They tap when it is cold then they adjust when it warms up and stop taping.
