Default New To Scene - 89 rex

Hey guys, Im quite new to the car scene, just pick up a crx a week ago. Its stock engine wise aside from exhaust and intake. It has a fair amount of cosmetic mods, which you may, or may not be a fan of. Im looking at replacing the front bumper soon due to it cracking and not being mounted properly. I was also looking into improving its performance. It has the stock d16 engine in it, and i was wondering what would be best for me. I dont have the most cash, but the best bang for the buck is what im looking for. Ive read about a lot of swaps for the car, or just boosting the d16. What would be best for the money? Im looking to you guys with experience, because I really don't know much as of yet. Thanks.

Here are a couple pics, i know it may not be your preference look wise and all, so if you have any feedback let me know. Im always looking for positive criticism.
The pics are large, so i decided to link them rather than a direct post.

Did you find that in some rice patties?
No seriously just brush all the rice off the car, it's hard to see it.

Ok all playing aside, you are one of the best new guys here because I can actually read and understand what you are saying.
Try to do a search on the "mini-me" swap.
You have an Si with a d16 bottom end so it would be cheap and you can expect 20-30hp gains if done right.

Good luck and welcome aboard.

Alright, thanks for the info. This car will be a daily driver, and after looking up the mini-me swap I read about how the car wont pass emissions test. Is it worth it for me to do the swap anyway? Passing the test is a must. Are there any other options for me? Thanks.

Well you could buy a Jackson Racing Supercharger.
I think they are Carb approved.
Just go to JacksonRacing.com.

I see there's one on ebay for 750ish last night.
