what are some signs of valves being too tight? ive been doin valves adjustments for 3 days now...i finally think i got it right....my valves tick until the car is fully warmed up....i just wanna make sure my valves arent too tight....

 

to identify if your valves are too tight
1) motor sounds too quiet (normal specs should tick a little, not too loud, not too quiet)
2) RPM drop below 500 at idle
3) your exhaust backfires
4) loss of power

my car does "pop" sometimes at idle...and the motor moves a little when it happens...the idle stays at about 700...my car has always had a little pop in it though...sometimes when i shift it backfires pretty loud...i have an exhaust leak around the resonator...so that might be the reason for the popping..

goo...now that you mention that my valves were just done and i have two of those symptoms......my idle drops to 500 then kicks back to like 6-650 and it "pops" sometimes but only sometimes......scary. valve burn up when too tight right....sorry to ***** the thread....just concerned now...
