As I was leaving school today, i was in first gear and accelerated as i normally would. I felt the car bog a little during the acceleration, i put in the clutch in and the car sputtered and died.
I tried starting it up again but it only turned over, just cranked but didn't start. All my electrical equipment work too such as my radio, lights, etc.. I seached for a similar circumstance but i couldn't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

Check to see if you have a spark, or anything from coil on the dizzy.. First thing I would do is a spark test..

^^ 1st place you should start. Easiest thing, have someone crank over the engine while you hold a spark plug wire to a ground and see if you see a spark. I normally have a spare plug lying around -I put that in a plug wire -put towards ground to see if there is a spark.
If no spark -probably igniter or coil.
If spark -start with fuel -good change it is main relay or fuel pump

So im suppose to take the spark plug wire off the distributor and touch it to a grounding source or take it off the spark plug and touch it to a grounding source?
I would pull off the wires and put a plug on it and hold it close to a grounding area and have somene crank it. If you see spark, you've got spark. It's probably a ghetto way of doing it, but it's fast, easy, and it works.
On another note, it may be your ignitor as well.
How old is the motor? Perhaps your timing belt snapped..

I tried doing the spark test and didn't get a spark at all. It turned out to be the coil after all. Thanx for all your help
