Sounds like everyone had a nice time. That's always good!
I'm gonna go a little off-topic here. ActiveAero, last night when you were headed home, what was up with your brakes sparking? We was trying to get you to pull over to take a look at it. I hope everything is ok, it looked pretty dangerous. Your R looked awesome by the way.

Just wait till I get my car and my driver's license, I'll be at these meets!

Just wanted to let you guys know that I had a blast even though I was a few hours late. A broken cell phone will do that to ya in the middle of atlanta. Oh and a word of advice to everyone on this board. If Ken tells you to follow him somewhere don't do it unless you like cruising at 140 or so.
Black R got down to 65. Nice job!
The only thing I was showing today was how not to drive that course. Though I did take Black R for a nice spin. That would be showing how a car setup to oversteer is not forgiving to a driver who does stupid things.
cya guys next time.

By the way what was all of the HT guys official fastest lap, might be a while before that computer mess is worked out. Also if I'm not familiar with you please post what you were in and what class.
Personal best was a 66.4
Me and Ken fiqured out to start heel and toeing down to first (and sometimes down to second for Ken since he was the only guy hitting third with his stupid spec B crap
), we were wondering if most of you just left it in second or what. I never tried leaving it in second so I'm not sure how it would have worked out. I did have to fight the car alot harder going to first and powering out of the corner, as most of you saw when I decided to attack the timing box. My rev limiter got used alot as well.

Waaaaah!!! Sorry I had to miss it. Looked like "it was a fine, fine day for motor racing" as Jackie Stewart used to say, in his famous Scottish brogue...

.....I don't know my official time.
Let's wait until the results are up. Spiff, thanks for taking me for a spin (literally
)
My back and neck still hurt from that one!
I wish I could've ridden with Scott, but damn if we didn't have to stay in order and every time he drove I had to be lined up ready to take my runs.
Maybe you can coax him out to the next event as well?
I think we all had a blast! Sunburns and dehydration included.

ATL-R, I was gonna take you for a ride, but couldn't find you on my 3rd run.
Maybe another time, perhaps.....Don't let Brock (ActiveAero) fool you: I had to drive fast to keep him off my rear bumper - that guy loves to tailgate!
Seriously, he must be a natural born driver: 1 sec off my times with just an intake (yes I've spent way too much $ on mods), and .5 sec faster in the 1/4 than me!
Casey (Neo), and Jeff (Pyromaster): we all missed you both! Come out next time! I wanted to ride with each of you!
everyone! -the r0cker

Uhhh, in my defense, he had rear strut tower bar and HPS brake pads. Yeah, that's worth 2 seconds...
Dang, where were all you guys during the first race (mar. 10)? Didn't see you out there. Couldn't make it out tho on sunday - was helping a friend put an AEM CAI in his VR6. Oh, and someone broke into my house on saturday and stole some ****!!!!

i thought about going out for the afternoon stuff but had things to do. oh well
I think it was those Hawk HPS's acting up again. I had to take off the backing plates on the outer pads before I came up because they had shifted. I think they stopped sparking though and the car is still braking good so I'm not that worried right now.

I've been at every event this year.....
Maybe you ran in the morning when I ran in the afternoon? Many of us ran in the afternoon yesterday too... Just missed morning registration so we got up early for nothing!
But fun was had by all...
Sorry about your house being broken into!
Yep it was a blast for sure, good to see all you guys again. I was a little disappointed in the Toyos, they def dont have the grip of the RE010s. Time to convince the wife into getting a set of other tires/rims
(yeah right!). My best was a 68.xxx in my 2nd ever Auto-x. We'll see if that bumps me out of novice!
Also, I took some pics during the 2nd group, sorry no Hondas or Acuras but it was all I could get between running and working.

Looking forward to next meet!

Its cool that we have such a big h-t following that all come to the events, plus we're all friends and can hang out...
Just wanted to say im glad everyone showed up and im also glad we're all friends.
RatedR: whos not always the sentimental type, but happy fellow R owners and the hatchie people all come out to have fun and shoot the breeze.

It was a REALLY fun course. The incident in between my 2nd and 3rd runs (people who were there know what I'm talking about) put a damper on everything, but it was a good day nonetheless. Also a very LONG day.
My best was 67.--, could have done better but I'm not used to using the rev limiter so much.
April 14th is Points #3, be there!

Man all you guys makes me wish I was back in the honda camp this year!!
It was cool to see so many Rs (and RSX
) out there. What class did all of you run in, anyone in STX?
I just got my Azenis the day before the event and came down there still with the stickers on the tires. Wow! What can I say... these tires are great! I got my good friend, my autox professor Jay Parcon, to setup and co-drive my Talon with me. In case not everyone knows him, Jay is most likely in the top 3 best drivers on site at every ATL event, period. He's a former rally driver (has even ran a few SCCA Pro Rally events), done many track events on tracks in California, and he has also been autocrossing for over 12 years - so yeah he was my "hired gun" for this event.
We changed either the shock settings or tire pressures after every single run and by the end we both dropped our times by 1.5 seconds and found a pretty good setup for the car. For those STXers out there, there is a new guy in town. Did anyone see that blue WRX STI run? Well that was my friend (Joel), who literally bought every STI option from the dealer (stiffer springs, shocks, sway bars, brakes, 17x7.5 rims, etc..) except for the extra 40 hp or so that the real STI has compared to his. Since he is also happens to be a GOOOD driver, I believe he was at least a good 3-4 seconds faster than any other WRX on site. His time: a cool 64.997 on Azenis. I got 3rd in class with a 65.2 and my hired gun Jay did his job and won with a 64.911. Top 3 separated by 3 tenths, now THAT's close and even though I got 3rd, I had WAY more fun than this way than taking an easy boring win.
I had no idea that WRX STI would be so fast and now I feel a little under "modded" since only my open intake and bov are putting me out of D Stock, so by next event I'll have a set of springs to go with my Konis. So Joel or any other STXer out there, better watch out next time!!! I'll have my revenge. lol

in 205/50-15, please! I've got a set of 15 x 7 light weight rims just waiting for these tires to be mounted....

I placed an order exactly a week before to discount tires. http://www.tires.com So if you're willing to wait a few days, order through them.
You're right, the '98 type r you saw was the same one you know. It's my dad's car for which I bought the roll bar+race tires when I autocrossed it last year. I keep asking him to trade cars with me, but no luck!!
My mother's '91 Accord is still up on four stands in the garage getting some maintainance work done, so in the mean time she's driving the type r. She dropped by at turner field before heading to work that day. Still, she want her (automatic!!) accord back soon... lol

Uhh..... Sean, what did you run again? I think the type S beat the type LS!

Damn, you guys are making me want some light wheels and super sticky tires!
I'm actually surprised with the re010's - they are feeling better with more miles on them now...
