Default Blown Fuse

Hi, I've had consistent problems with my fuse being blown on my '04 Accord LX Sedan. Twice I have plugged in a car charger, and when i pull it out, the head gets stuck and the fuse gets blown. The two car chargers were different items, it seems like the car charger spot in my car is too small and doesn't let anything out of it. It happened with both slots, the one out on my dash, and the one inside the box under the armrest. I am wondering what fuse I have to acquire to replace the blown one, and whether or not the problem is with my car ... ThankS!

This "Charger you're discussing, is it to charge the Accords battery; or are you driving a charger for a cell phone, lap top or other.

If it's to charge the Accords Battery, do yourself a really big favor and either modify it for some large alligator clips, or buy a Charger which connects directly to the battery.
I don't subscribe the use of cigar lighters for anything else because of what you're going thru.
Whats happening here? Because of manufacturing tolerances, they make the plug on such units smaller than it needs to be (so that it will fit everything), thus the 'loose' observation. As you pull the plug out, it rocks in the bore, touching the center contact to to case, causing the blown fuse.

It's fuse # 9 15A in the under dash fuse box.
Easy tip and I know it sounds stupid, but don't use the chargers of that style. Or make sure you have a good brand name (the of your product to be plugged in). That usually helps.

Yeah, the first charger I plugged in was just for my Sharp GX32 Cell Phone. The second one was for interior lights. So, I'm assuming there are more than a couple people who are having this problem? Thanks for the fuse tip, moogocow3, you can buy that type of fuse at a place like fry's or something, right?
