got my vtec motor put in and every other honda that i race still smokes me. i either take them in first or at least keep up with them but when i shift to second it bogs a little thats usually when they start smoking me unless its right off the line. car also only tops out at 95mph. d16z6 with cx tranny combo and aem short ram intake... why so slow.. the tranny prolly

your CX tranny is one of the problem

 

its ok its an economy car! dont expect too much out of it until u do a swap / fi or something along those lines.

In all honosty..its your cx tranny. The bogging is probably you falling out of vtec when you shift into 2nd.

 

I think OBX makes a big vtec kit.... right?

Probably the biggest problem. The motor he has is decent enough. Try getting a D series EX/Si tranny. You'll have much better results.

 

not the B series Si tranny though, obviously

 

well, because you running a single came with a cx tranny. even with a si tranyn you will still be slow. swap in a dohc vtec

yup, i had one put on my ls and now i have vtec all day

I heard that more power gains were to be had if you go with the vtec killer cams on the ls.

 

man that probably would have been cheaper too.

 

i heard toda is working on some d series vtec killer cams
that will get you your bigger vtec

 

that cx tranny got some loooong *** gears its for economy highwat driving maybe you can take them on the highway though
