I am just curious how are the guages and the guage needle lit. Are the guages backlit and the needles have its own separate lighting i just want to know just curious. Also why does the temp guage on the 5th gen reads about 1/4 way i just want to know just curious. I just think it is cool looking especially most other cars temp guages sit at the 1/2 way point.

 

1st question - cluster backlit ---- needles have individual lights
2nd question - WoW!!! True ricer.... You'd rather it look cool than run colder

each gauge has their own light in the back theres 2 on top that light it from above I should know cause I've taken out my gauge cluster many times.

1. Actually, the needles are not lit on the 5th gen and older models. The guages are backlit and lit from the front as well. The projection lighting makes the needles appear lit.

2. Honda gauges just do that. Anywhere between blue and red is the "happy zone"
